A community CARE home/health clinic for HIV positivive sex workeres in Mandya, some 50km from Mysore, belonging to the Ashodaya Samithi--a community-based organisation in Mysore, who unites and empowers sex workers, regardless of their sexual orientation and gender. Ashodaya has been successful in mobilising sex workers to practice and promote consistent condom use and to stand up for their rights. On a regular base the sex workers get a medical check up and if necessary full treatment for free.
Shivamma a Ashodaya Samithi member runs a lodger with 3 rooms, which she rent out for sex workers and their clients.
